Kevin Buckler is a Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Houston-Downtown. He the editor emeritus of the Journal of Criminal Justice and Law and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Qualitative Criminal Justice and Criminology. He earned his PhD in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati. His academic appointments include stints at the University of Texas-Brownsville (now UT-Rio Grande Valley), Georgia Southern University, and Prairie View A & M University. The focus of his work is organizational and individual decision-making in criminal cases by appellate courts and trial judges. His research has also addressed media coverage of crime and justice topics.
