We publish open access. The JCJL is an open access journal. “Digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions” (per Suber’s Open Access MIT Press). By being open access, JCJL articles, essays, and book reviews provide scholars, policymakers, and the general public an awareness of leading criminal justice practice and theory and provides scholars with the ability to share their work in a more inclusive scholarly ecosystem that is more rational, socially just, and increases our authors’ impact.
We do not have an article processing charge. Authors of accepted articles are not charged for publication.
The JCJL utilizes PubPub as a web base and publication tool. Through PubPub the JCJL has access to publication outlets to increase the availability and publicity of published works. This includes listing in Google Scholar (starting early in 2021).
